On this level, you will be introduced to the four kinds of boots available to you and the four kinds of surfaces you may walk on with them. The Flipper on the Floor near where you start allows you to swim without drowning. Once you have swum through the Water you can pick up the Ice Skate. While you can walk on Ice without an Ice Skate, you will have no control over where you move. You must move where the Ice takes you. However, with the Ice Skate, you can move on Ice as you would on a Floor Square.

Picking up the Ice Skate allows you to move on the Ice and pick up the Fire Boot and another Chip. Once you can have picked up the Fire Boot you can walk on Fire without being burned.

Using the Fire Boot to walk on Fire allows you to pick up the Traction Boot. The Traction Boot allows you to walk on Sliders as you would on Floor Squares. If you try to walk on Sliders without Traction Boots you will not be able to control where you go. Wearing Traction Boots allows you to control where you walk on the Sliders.
